The 'Chelmer Brig'

Was the end cottage of the group of three cottages on Lock Hill (No1 Lock Hill), before the building on the corner was constructed.

It is not known whether the 'Chelmer Brig' or 'Thomas Warraker's Beer House' was the first 'beer house/public house' in the village.

Was also used briefly as the Lock Keepers house.
