St George's Church

This wooden building was originally the sergeants mess on nearby 'Stow Maries' airfield during WW1. When the airfield was closed it was purchased by Bentall, transported to the Basin and dedicated in March 1920. It was locate behind the village pond which has now gone, at the large turning area on the corner where the village bus stop was later built.
