'Bonfire Night' in front of the 'Jolly Sailor'

An annual event organised under the umbrella of the 'Jolly Sailor' it's landlord Eric Priestley and patrons. Introduced in the 1970's a collection jar for the purchase of pyrotechnics was always kept on the shelf behind the bar. The event was regularly co-ordinated and undertaken by Tom Polden. The bonfire was set up in the parking area in front of the 'Jolly Sailor', and most of the display set off from the top of the seawall.
