No 67 'The Old Butcher's
Shop |

Mr Wakelin from Barrow
Marsh Farm at Millbeach, operated a butcher’s round by horse
and cart, in the 1930s, he opened a shop in the Basin. When he
died in 1940 his nephew Mr Leonard continued to run the shop
and a delivery round by motor van until sometime in the 1970s.
Members of the Wakelin family continued to live in the village
until very recently. |
