An established outdoor centre
for young children from the London Borough of Newham, along the
foreshore infront of 'May & Butcher' and 'C.C.Stebbens' boatyard..
The centre has accommodation for children and tutors on a barge,
with practical experience on sailing and general safety on the
water aboard the many small sailing craft the centre owns. It
first started in 1963 utilising the barge 'Mamgu', which after
showing signs of deterioration beyond practical repair was replaced
in 1983 with the much larger barge 'Haybay'. |
